Why I Became A Blogger

I know this isn't my normal style of post, however, I wanted to share with you all the reason I started blogging in the first place.

There are so many bloggers that say the same things and you more than likely feel as if you're reading the same post repeatedly. However, we all have our own reasons and stories behind why we express ourselves in this way. Which is why I wanted to share mine.

I have always loved writing. I am a writer at heart, I know that's rather a bold statement - although it's true. When I was first introduced to blogging platforms, I immediately took to the idea of this little space on the web which I can design and use as my very own release.

I also found that blogging helped me in other ways. As much as I hate to admit it, when I first began writing my overall style and grammar was poor. I am not saying it's perfect now, because I am sure if a proof-reader scanned through my work they would immediately pick up on errors.

But, what I can say is that I have improved dramatically on my writing technique whilst at university and blogging enabled me to really build on that skill.

When I initially started out, it was all fuzzy - I had no clear direction and quite frankly I was trying too hard to be like everyone else. It only occurred to me a few years ago that maybe, just maybe, people will love my work because it's my style, my clear direction and my own opinion.

Writing beauty related posts felt right for me. I am extremely and utterly in love with makeup. The way that makeup can make you feel, the mask that it represents for some and the confidence that it builds for others. I love playing with makeup and the diversity of it. It has always been a big part of my life.

I remember when I was around 8 years old and my sister used to dress me up. She would use her makeup on me which of course my dad hated (he thinks we are beautiful without it). This memory and quality time is definitely hands down one of my fondest childhood memories and I have continued to have a love for beauty products ever since.

I began writing on Sprucenews in 2013. It was originally a space for me to share my opinions on fashion and modelling, which was once a topic or area that I adored. However, as I began trying to understand where I could take my stance this beauty direction shone through and eventually took over this space.

It just felt right, to write about something that puts a smile on my face.

Over the past few years it has grown beyond just a small space to share my thoughts, it's now an open site where I share reviews, opinions, videos and images.

Blogging offers me a means to escape. I lose myself in blogging, writing beauty reviews and producing videos. It's become such a large part of who I am and I love it.

I would recommend to anyone who is either looking for a hobby or a way to lose themselves. It's almost like a diary out in the open to express who you are and what you enjoy.

I hope this offers you more insight into who I am and why I love writing articles for you all to read.
