Primark Insta Finish Liquid Lipsticks

As much as I love to buy luxury beauty products. I also love a bargain when I see one. I recently took a spur of the moment trip into Primark and came across these liquid lipsticks in Primarks rather large beauty section.

There were a variety  of lipsticks available but I selected the four shades that I thought would suit my skin tone the best. For £2 each, I thought they were a great find.

My initial thoughts were how pretty they looked. The shades were really stunning and they were definitely colours I would wear. However, when I tried them on, I have to admit they were a little watery. I wasn't a huge fan of the texture and some of them felt quite sticky on my lips. They were also patchy in places and it took maybe two or three coats to cover my lips properly.

The applicator is a little shoddy and I think it would be better if it wasn't so spatula like. It's hard to stay in the lines and they did bleed outside the lines after a while. They didn't last very long on my lips - around 2 hours max.

I did find that they weren't very drying on my lips which I think was the only bonus with these as many liquid lipsticks are.

I think you definitely get what you pay for. For £2, you can't really question the quality, but I don't think I'll be reaching for these any time soon. I would advise trying one out to see whether you like the texture before purchasing any more.

Personally, I would rather spend an extra £3 and buy a better quality lipstick that I will get more use out of.

Burt's Bees Lip Balm

I have loved Burt's Bees for years and have always used their products. Whether that's their lip balms or cleanser. They are definitely up there with my recommended go-to brands for skin care.

I recently got my hands on the Burt's Bees Vanilla Bean lip balm, which I just needed to share with you all. Before you even consider it, no this isn't a sponsored post - it's genuine adoration for this brand and product!

I have fell in love with this lip balm - probably a slight exaggeration, but if I could select an emoji to showcase my feelings it would be the face with the heart eyes.

Not only is it incredibly moisturising, but it also smells divine. I don't know about you, but in the colder seasons my skin and lips become incredibly dry. I tend to go through lip balms very quickly in the winter because I'm so self conscious when it comes to having dry lips - I'm constantly reapplying like a mad woman!

I wear lipstick pretty much every day. So the combination of the cold weather and a matte lipstick doesn't do my lips any good.

I have tried a few of their lip balms and none are as good as this one in terms of nourishment and smell (unless you count their limited edition Gingerbread lip balm).

It also lasts a long time on your lips. I usually reapply every three hours. A little goes a long way and it works great under your lipstick. I would 100% recommend it!

You can buy it here.

How to create the perfect Media/Press Kit for your blog

Every blogger wants to take things to the next level. To do this, you have to be committed and ready to put the effort in present yourself and your blog in the best way.

Are you ready to stand out?

I’m going to be completely transparent with you - it’s not easy. It does take time and effort but in the end when those blog sponsorships deals are coming in, you will think it’s worth it.

You don’t have to be a graphic designer to make your media pack look awesome. Sometimes less is more, so work with what you've got. The most important aspect of your media pack is the contents. So I wanted to share my top tips on how you can create the perfect media pack for your blog.

First things first, what is a media kit?
Well, a media kit or a press kit is a document that you create which showcases all of your social stats and details which you want to use to entice brands to work with you. It’s not just your blog analytics; it’s much, much more! You share the best bits about your blog as well as all the great things about you. Personality is key!

What goes into a media/press kit?
  • Image of you (this would be in the introduction section)
  • Your blog logo
  • Introduction – this should introduce you
  • Describe your blog – What’s the theme of your blog?
  • Features list – what categories do you write about? Beauty, fashion, health & well being etc.
  • Statistics – social following and blog stats (followers, clicks per month)
  • Outline of what you’re offering
    • Rates and payment policies – what are you charging and how do you want them to pay you.
    • What you offer in return for their sponsorship – is it product reviews or social promotion etc.
    • If it’s just advertising where will these ads go?
So what now?
Now it's time to promote brand you.

I hope you find this useful!
