The best foundation for bridal makeup

There are so many things a woman needs to consider when it comes to her bridal makeup. After two trials I am still in a pickle about how I want to look on my big day. I never thought I would be so fussy. However, my years of reviewing makeup, I now feel confident in my understanding of what looks good on me and what doesn't.
I'm thinking of doing an entire series on bridal makeup, but today, we are going to be discussing foundation. When considering your makeup, you have to go through a sort of check list.

Do you want to be more natural? Do you want to be more glam? Eyeshadow looks, lipstick selections, highlighter or no highlighter, how much blush should you wear, contour or not to contour. The questions to yourself are endless.

Now, most of these questions will be answered by your makeup artist if that's what you choose. I've decided to have a makeup artist as I would like to feel more pampered on my big day. The only issue with me is that I cannot let go, so I have decided to purchase every product I would like to use on my wedding day so I can have a play around with my go-to look first.

As part of this trial and error of mine, I have been on the hunt for the perfect foundation.

I have reviewed foundation after foundation thanks to my beauty channel. I have come across some awful foundations which make me look greasy, cakey and down right terrible. But I have also used some pretty fabulous foundations as well.

The trick with any foundation that you use on your wedding day is to ensure the levels of SPF are minimal. If your products are high in SPF you're going to get what's known as 'Flashback' or 'Ghostface' in your wedding pictures. This means that essentially, your face will look a completely different colour to your body in pictures. You will have a sort of white shadow which looks horrendous.
On my search for the best bridal foundation, I came across Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation and this is unbelievable. Here's why...

  1. No flashback with this foundation
  2. It gives a natural light coverage that's easily build-able
  3. Covers any/all blemishes
  4. Perfect for combination skin - no greasy patches for me
  5. Provides a dewy finish without looking shiny
  6. Stays on for more than 12 hours
  7. Works well with your everyday makeup
It's just gorgeous. I haven't come across a foundation I love more and for my wedding makeup it's perfect. It's definitely a product I would recommend. The only downside is the cost. At £42, it's not the cheapest but it's definitely worth the investment or something to ask your makeup artists about.

You watch my first impressions video of this foundation here.

  1. This short article posted only at the web site is truly good.

  2. I was going to ask you whether you decided to choose this foundation for your wedding? Its too expensive for me but your skin looks stunning.
