Buttery Shortbread Biscuits Recipe

Makes: 15
Prep time: 40 minutes
Bake time: 20 minutes
  • 225g unsalted butter
  • 110g caster sugar (you will need a little extra for dusting)
  • 225g plain flour (Keep a little extra aside for dusting)
  • 110g cornflour
  • Pinch of salt

  1. Lightly butter 2 trays of use baking parchment paper
  2. Mix together butter and sugar in a large bowl. Whisk until creamed together
  3. Add the plain flour and cornflour into the bowl with the sugar and butter, and then add the pinch of salt. This is better if you sift the flour
  4. Dust your worktop with flour and then tip the mixture onto the surface then knead into a dough
  5. Once the dough is made you can now start to make your shapes. I usually do this by hand as I’m not fussed about every biscuit being the same size. However, if you are, roll this out into your baking trays so they are even then begin to make your shapes.
  6. Chill for 20 - 30 minutes
  7. Heat your oven to 170°
  8. Bake your shortbread's for about 20 minutes until golden brown on the edges. Leave on your baking tray until cool. You can then move onto a plate or wire rack and dust with sugar.
  9. These will keep for about 3 days in an airtight container.

If you would like to add some flavouring you definitely can. You can add lemon, cinnamon or even chocolate chips! Just mix these in at the beginning of your method after your flour and cornflour.

The ultimate wedding checklist

People say that wedding planning is stressful but in my opinion, it's only stressful if you let it get on top of you. Yes, there are certain elements of the process which are hard and take a lot of work to get right. But it's really all down to your approach, the right planning, and budgeting.

So how easy is it to plan a wedding?

Honestly, I wouldn't say it's easy but if you know the steps you need to take and ensure you're keeping to time, it can be a much better experience then you're anticipating. I personally loved the planning process, it made everything more exciting and allowed us to succeed in achieving our perfect day.

However, not everything is smooth sailing, things can be tough and well, they don't say it's one of the most stressful experiences of your life for nothing.

I thought as a new bride I could impart my wife wisdom. Gary and I planned our wedding ourselves, we couldn't afford a wedding planner so it took a lot of effort to get this done.

So for any couples looking for some wedding tips, here's the breakdown of the steps we took and hopefully it will help you.

G&T with ice please...

I very rarely drink alcohol and I can honestly say I never thought I would be writing a blog post about Gin. However, as of late I have been loving creating a variety of Gin concoctions, one of which I wanted to share with you all today.

Gary is a huge Gin lover and has always enjoyed a cheeky G&T ever since I met him. Myself, on the other hand, haven't really been a fan - until recently that is. I'm not sure if it's a hormonal thing or because my taste buds have changed but now I love the taste.

Previously, Gin used to really change my mood in the sense where I could have a glass and feel really angry for no good reason. I also know that Gin is known as a depressant for some people and can change people's emotions making them feel sad.

This year I noticed that the old effects that Gin used to have on me and my mood has completely altered. I no longer get mood swings or feel angry, I now just feel happy and content.

One thing I really enjoy about drinking Gin is the fact that you can create something different by changing the tonics and garnishes. It makes the drinking part that little bit more fun for me.

I received this bottle of Premium Pink Gordon's Gin for my birthday this year and I have been loving it. Don't worry, I've been sharing its contents with friends and Gary, hence why there's only half a bottle left.

I've particularly enjoyed having a play around with flavours and as someone with a sweet tooth, this is definitely one of my favourite Gins.

Here's my chosen recipe...

  • 1 Gin glass (I got mine at a Gin festival but you can buy these pretty much anywhere)
  • 1 shot of Gordon's Premium Pink Distilled Gin (Approx 42ml)
  • 3/4 ice cubes - crushed ice is usually better I think
  • 2 large strawberries cut into quarters
  • 250 ML of Elderflower Fever-Tree tonic (Full fat or low cal)

Stir together and it creates this beautifully refreshing G&T that's perfect all year round. It's a great drink for a girls night in. I absolutely love it. You can also add raspberries if you want additional fruit.

I hope you enjoy testing this out!

Please note, this blog post isn't for everyone. You have to be over 18 years old to drink this in the UK.  If you have personal issues with alcohol or an addiction please seek the guidance you need. Here is the link to Alcoholics Anonymous who can provide you with the support.

Beauty Christmas Advent Calendars 2018

The countdown for Christmas is on. With only a few months to go, it's got me thinking/excited about what advent calendars I would love to buy this year if I could afford to.

After the huge Zoella scandal last year that was the talk of every blogger, vlogger and customer, I think people are more and more aware of what they are spending their money on and conscious of being over sold a product that quite frankly isn't reaching the standard that's expected. And let's be honest, the cost of advent calendars have again increased in price, so not all of these will be affordable for everyone, but I thought I would share with you what I found that I thought you would enjoy as well.

My tips on how to de-stress

We all get stressed from time to time. It's a natural reaction to certain situations that we just cannot avoid. However, there are methods which I use to help me when I feel stressed that I wanted to share with you today.
Regular Exercise
One way I de-stress is hitting the gym or going for a run. I find this is a great way to release some tension and relax your body. Plus, exercise helps release endorphins which essentially trigger a positive feeling in the body. Basically, making you feel a little bit happier. This option is perfect for those who suffer from depression, anxiety or constant stress.

Shifting your focus from negative to positive. Meditation is a great way for you to take a step back, breathe and look at things with a new outlook. Sometimes we worry about things that are out of our control. Through meditation, you will be able to refocus and review what's bothering you and tackle it with a fresh mindset.

Calming music
Gary and I listen to calming music before we go to sleep. We find that this helps to relax us before bed. I find that this is particularly helpful when I have had a bad day at work or something in my personal life has affected my mood. It stops me from overthinking and soothes me. I know for Gary, it helps to ease his anxiety. It's definitely worth giving it a try.

Go offline
Sometimes was all just need to turn off from the world for an hour. Go for a long walk or read a book - an actual physical book not your Kindle. I find that switching off from everything digital can really relax my mind. It gets rid of so many distractions and allows me to think about me for a change.

Treat yourself
Whether it's a chocolate bar or a pair of shoes. Treat yourself to something you want that will make you happy. This feeling won't last forever, but it will remind you that you can be happy and regardless of how stressed you are feeling, it will pass.

One of my favourite ways to de-stress is to meet up with friends or see family. It helps take my mind off the situation I'm in and 9 times out of 10 I end up laughing and having a great time. Laughter is the best medicine.

Increase your potassium intake
When you get stressed, your blood pressure rises. By increasing your potassium intake - such as eating a banana, you will reduce your blood pressure, in turn helping to reduce your stress levels. I'm not a doctor, this is from research that I have done into how food can relieve your body from stress/anxiety. It's definitely worth giving it a go.

Get creative
Arts and crafts, knitting, pottery or drawing are all things you can do to help decrease your stress levels. By being creative you give yourself something else to focus on, rather than just thinking about what's stressing you out at that moment.

Talk it through
Do you ever find that talking through your problems enables you to see things more clearly? I do. I find that just chatting or 'moaning' about what's bothering me puts things into perspective. I actively seek advice from my friends or Gary. It helps me to change my outlook and do something about the problems I have.

And finally, get a good nights sleep. This isn't always easy but a lack of sleep can increase stress levels. Try and go to bed at the same time every day and wake up and at the same time every day. We all love a lie in every now and again but having a routine can really change your mindset.

I hope you find these useful. Sometimes you just need to change one thing in your life and you will see a massive difference in your mood and stress levels.

Bali Balm #KissThePlanet

As of late, I have been focusing on leading a more sustainable lifestyle. Ensuring I recycle, using reusable bottles rather than throw aways and swapping out plastic containers to glass. It's only a small step but I have to start somewhere.

I have also been looking into beauty brands that lead with a sustainable future thinking ethos. When Bali Balm reached out, I was so excited about trying a product from a brand that focus on the wellbeing of the planet.
What can I say, I'm in love and I've almost run out. (crying face emoji). I've been using the Bergamot and Grapefruit lip balm for the last four weeks. It's nourishing, fresh and leaves your lips hydrated and soft. It's basically the perfect lip balm. The smell is also delicious, I'm a huge fan of grapefruit so as you can imagine, I was very happy.

Glamping: Hollington Park

In August 2018, Gary and I decided to try something new and go Glamping. In celebration of our 2 year engagement anniversary - not sure if that's even a thing - we wanted to take time away and experience something different. With our wedding day creeping up on us, and the cost that comes with it, we didn't want to spend a massive amount of money on a breakaway but wanted to celebrate all the same.
With only having booked off one day at work, we were looking for somewhere local that could provide us with that 'holiday feeling' but not the mad rush or long drive/flight to get there.

After doing a quick Google search, we came across a cute little place only one hour away from our house called Hollington Park. Hollington Park is based in Newbury, West Berkshire.

I'm not exactly an 'outdoorsy' kind of girl, I've never been camping and I only usually attend day festivals where I can sleep in a hotel rather than on the ground somewhere in a tent. I think the closest I've been to camping is staying in a caravan. With Gary being a huge outdoors person who loves the idea of camping and recreating the whole Bear Grylls/Ed Stafford lifestyle, we decided to compromise and go Glamping so it would be something we both would enjoy.

In pursuit of happiness

You've probably looked at the title of this blog and thought what a load of old fluff... Am I right?

When I typed those words, I honestly thought what on earth have I just written, but when you read this blog, you will realise that those are the best words to describe what I am in search of and attempting to share with you today.

Personal posts are not my strong suit. 70% of the time, I find it hard to articulate exactly what I mean on camera and in words. My brain tends to go a million miles per hour and my fingers cannot type fast enough. By the time I do, the thought has left my mind and vanished along with every other thought.

Today, I wanted to talk about my ambition to find true happiness. I'm not sure if it's even possible but I have found that the older I get, the less I want to please others and the more I want to please myself. Those words in writing sound so selfish, but I find that we are so eager to please others and gain their acceptance that we lose out on what we actually want.

The best foundation for bridal makeup

There are so many things a woman needs to consider when it comes to her bridal makeup. After two trials I am still in a pickle about how I want to look on my big day. I never thought I would be so fussy. However, my years of reviewing makeup, I now feel confident in my understanding of what looks good on me and what doesn't.
I'm thinking of doing an entire series on bridal makeup, but today, we are going to be discussing foundation. When considering your makeup, you have to go through a sort of check list.

Do you want to be more natural? Do you want to be more glam? Eyeshadow looks, lipstick selections, highlighter or no highlighter, how much blush should you wear, contour or not to contour. The questions to yourself are endless.

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette

You may look at this Huda Beauty mini palette and just see a few orangish eyeshadows with little inspiration. I look at this palette and see six different eye looks I could recreate over and over again.
This is the perfect holiday palette and my go-to summer palette for 2018. It's my favourite Huda Beauty palette so far and I think this is perfection for all of my olive skin tone ladies and gents. Within this palette you get nine shadows - two shimmer shades and seven matte shades. The pigmentation is stunning and the depth and warmth you can create is fantastic.

The best face oil ever

I'm a little late jumping on the Tarte Cosmetics Maracuja Oil bandwagon, but let me tell you, my skins never looked so good.

I'm not really one to hop on the latest trends, it's just not a done thing for me and well my bank account wouldn't allow it anyway. So I may be 2 years late to the party for this one, however I still feel the need to rave about my new found love.

Coco and Eve Hair Mask

I am all for any product that makes my hair look and feel luxurious and glossy. So when the Coco and Eve hair mask kept popping up on Facebook, I gave in and decided to make a purchase.

For £34.90, I was expecting incredible results and I have to say, I wasn't left disappointed.

The Lash Lift Procedure

Yesterday, I decided to go and get my eyelashes lifted. It's something that I have considered before but never took the leap to get it done. That was until my friend Natalie was looking for people to practice on as part of her beauty course.

I honestly have been amazed by the results. I have quite long natural lashes, but to get them to lift and look amazing always ends up with me battling with an eyelash curler and layers of mascara. After 45 minutes on Natalie's beauty table, my lashes look revitalised and longer than ever.

Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick

When a product has been hyped up so much, I cannot help myself, I just have to try it. Makeup Revolution only went and dropped a full coverage foundation, so the one question on everyone's mind is - how does it compare to their conceal and define concealer?

So how does it compare? Well, it's pretty amazing actually. If you're looking for an affordable, full coverage foundation then this is the one for you.

It's super easy to apply, feels smooth on the skin and works well with the conceal and define concealer. It lasted around 5 hours before my t-zone started to get a little oily. However, the coverage is actually incredible. I wanted to test it properly, so decided to use the foundation to cover up my tattoo.

The one negative thing I did find is that it accentuated my pores which weren't great. But I believe that with the right primer, that could be fixed.

Overall, I really like it. I would definitely recommend this foundation. I don't believe that this isn't the best foundation for someone with oily skin. If you did want to try it, I would suggest using a good baking powder.

I hope this helps! You can watch my review here

First of all, what does #PressforProgress even mean? Well, for International Women’s Day, a theme is created that we can collectively get involved in.

Since the Hollywood scandals erupted in the media, gender parity has been more exposed than ever before. Whilst it’s common knowledge that gender equality won’t happen overnight, the movement to push forward and progress for the equal rights of women is more prominent than ever before.

Women around the globe are marching together. We are unified for one cause.
That cause being – US.

International Women’s Day isn’t a day just for feminists. It’s a day for advocacy and support. It’s the one-day where we can really share the successes of women, no matter what age or race etc.

For me, #PressforProgress means knowing where I stand and fighting for where I want to be. As a career driven woman, it’s important for me to strive to be the best I possibly can be, to lead a life I can be proud of and to confidently be heard and know that my opinion is respected.

It’s also about being involved in a movement that’s much bigger than myself, bigger than any person, organisation or country. Bringing people together – not just women, everyone together, collectively to make progress in an initiative that’s been holding women back since the dawn of time.

The more voices heard. The closer we are to succeeding. It would be great to see in my lifetime, a better more equal society for women.

Remember, empowered women, empower other women! Let’s #PressforProgress together.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

I'm all for a natural glow. If I can find a product that helps me achieve that look - I'm loving it forever.
When I think about Charlotte Tilbury, I automatically think high-quality beauty products. There has only ever been 2 or 3 products within her collection that haven't been right for me. So, when I discovered the Hollywood Flawless Filter, I knew it was either going to be a big hit or a major flop. Fortunately, it's a winner for me.

According to the Charlotte Tilbury website, Hollywood Flawless Filter is a revolutionary complexion booster. It's essentially a primer with the glow of a highlighter. Allowing you to create the perfect radiant look.

I personally love any makeup product that enhances my natural look without having to wear foundation. Which is why I decided to purchase this product.

First impressions

The Hollywood Flawless Filter cost me £30 with a £2.95 shipping fee. It took around 8 days to arrive - I think it would have come earlier if the weather was better.

The packaging as always is stunning. Charlotte Tilbury doesn't skimp out on the quality. Everything is sleek and very Hollywood glam, down to the envelope that contains your receipt.

Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation

I love the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer - what beauty blogger doesn't. It's the most raved about concealer ever. So, when I found that Tarte Cosmetics were launching a foundation, I was so so excited!

However, as soon as they launched with only 18 shades, the negativity put me off from buying it for a while. 18 shades is such a limited number, especially when every other brand is creating more than 30 shades. I felt disappointed that the brand neglected to create a product that catered for all skin tones.

It's quite surprising and sad as there are so many customers missing out. Although Tarte has revealed they are releasing more shades, we are yet to see the proof in the pudding.

I'm not one to get pulled into drama, which is why I decided not to be influenced by others opinions. I made the decision to buy the foundation to review it.

The packaging is great. Really easy to apply - the applicator is amazing. It looks like a larger version of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.

In my honest opinion, this is a great foundation. It's the perfect shade for me. Long wearing, easily blend-able and soaks into the skin well. You can create both a light and full coverage look. The foundation is very build-able but not cakey on your skin, providing a seamless natural complexion.

It doesn't work well with the Shape Tape concealer in my opinion, I found that it creased easily underneath my eyes creating an extremely unflattering look. A part from that, I love it and would definitely recommend it. Lets just hope they create more shades.

You can watch my review here.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette

Known to the beauty community as the ultimate wedding palette. I have been waiting to try this since it leaked online a few months ago. As soon as it launched on the UK website, I ordered it. It took around four days to arrive. Which is standard shipping.

The packaging is the same as Modern Renaissance and Subculture. Sleek, well contained with a velvet feel casing. One thing I have to say is that I really dislike the colour of Soft Glam. I know it's meant to be a light gold but to me it just looks beige. Beige is beyond dull and not really a colour I would have personally selected. However, that's just a vanity thing, a personal opinion and reflects nothing on the palette itself.

First Impressions
Okay, just stare at the picture for a few moments... WOW right! I am seriously loving this palette. The colour combination is perfect. I am a warm tone girl. I love warm tone shades that not only compliment my skin, but can also be worn every day. I like the versatility of the palette and it's very easy to go from day to night with this one just by adding a metallic finish.

Shade Descriptions -
Tempera: Ultra-matte velvety beige
Glistening: Iridescent gold with a hint of pink reflect
Orange Soda: Ultra-matte pastel peach
Rose Pink: Rose gold with a soft pink iridescent hue
Sultry: A hybrid satin metallic finish warm chocolate brown
Bronze: Metallic gold bronze
Mulberry: Ultra-matte mulberry
Dusty Rose: Ultra-matte dusty lilac
Fairy: Multi-dimensional light gold
Burnt Orange: Ultra-matte deep orange
Sienna: Ultra-matte earthy brown
Rustic: Ultra-matte deep cinnamon brown
Cyprus Umber: Ultra-matte dark coffee
Noir: Ultra-matte deep carbon black

I found that there is quite a lot of fall out when using the shades. They are super soft so it's to be expected. This didn't bother me to be honest. However, I would recommend doing your eye makeup before you apply foundation.

The shades are so pigmented and a little goes a long way. I would advise lightly dabbing your brush rather than swirling which I know many people do. It will only make your brush pick up far too much product meaning you either can't blend very well or waste the products - let's face it, why would you want to do that!

NYX Cosmetics Worth The Hype Mascara

I am the fussiest person on the planet when it comes to mascaras. I love my natural lashes and I want a mascara that will help to emphasise them. When I received this mascara from Nyx Cosmetics - thank you Nyx - I was super intrigued to find out whether it was actually worth the hype.

Lets face it, so may brands over promise and never deliver. So I wasn't sure what to expect. I've been testing this out for a few weeks now and I have to say, it ticks all the boxes for me.

The applicator is great for combing through my lashes, there's no clumping and it provides a light coverage that you can build on to lift the lashes up.

It's definitely lengthening which is great. It's a seamless application and so comfortable to wear as well. When a mascara is too heavy on my lashes I have a horrible habit of picking it off. I haven't done that with this one - my lashes are thankful.

This has been my go-to mascara for the past two weeks. I just haven't wanted to use another. What's great is that this is only £9 so extremely affordable and well worth the money. I will be purchasing another when this one runs out.

I also love how easy it is to remove. There's nothing worse than a stubborn mascara that leaves you with panda eyes. You know they ones ladies! Urgh.

All in all, I would 100% recommend this product and I hope you find my review useful!

You can find it here.

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer

Every man and his dog has been raving about this Makeup Revolution Concealer and for £4 I know why. I've been using this concealer every day for the last two weeks to see what the hype is all about and whether or not it's actually worth it.

Needless to say, it is! I cannot speak highly enough of this product. Not only is it full coverage, it's also long-lasting and great for covering blemishes and dark circles. Not to mention, it's cheap as chips!

Another great bonus is that this is meant to be a dupe of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer that every beauty guru raves about. I'm not so sure it is as I haven't personally compared the two. However, if you can't afford the £21 concealer from Tarte Cosmetics, this would be a well worthy alternative.

One thing I must say is, be sure to test it out before you buy. I purchased mine online because I couldn't find it in store. I then purchased three different shades because I couldn't figure out which one was the best for my skin tone. I always struggle with this as some shades look lighter on screen than they actually are.

C10 is my perfect shade, and I probably could have gone one lighter.

Overall, there is nothing bad to say about this product. It has a great applicator and it looks great on your skin. I find it very creamy and my skin absorbs it so well. I don't get creasing with this but I would recommend add powder just in case.

It might not be a great product for dry skin because it's quite thick, but for £4 it's worth checking out yourself.

Glossier Makeup Review

Taking no makeup, makeup looks to new levels...

Anyone who knows me, knows that the more natural I can have my makeup the better. It's not just the ease of applying it, or how quick I can throw on a face of makeup in the morning. It's more about actually looking like myself.

In my opinion, there is something so wonderful about natural beauty. I don't think anyone should try to hide it. Glossier makeup really achieves this look so well. It's lightweight formula really compliments your skin and the natural beauty of it.

Here's a breakdown of what I purchased and my overall opinions.

Skin Tint
The skin tint is perfection. It blends in well and provides just what it says on the bottle - a tint or a glow. It's not full coverage or heavy. It's very light and airy and doesn't look cakey on your face. It's definitely my go-to right now. Especially on days where I haven't slept well or need an extra boost.

What's also great is that it lasts quite a long time. I would say around 9 hours it stays on my skin. I have combination skin, so I was surprised when it didn't cause havoc with my oily T-Zone.

I have never used a concealer quite like it before. Similar to the skin tint it's wonderful on your skin. It's a very creamy formula which I think you could definitely build up if needed. I found that it just melted into my skin so well and gave me the coverage I prefer.

Boy Brow
I once said, if it's good enough for Beyonce, it's definitely good enough for me. As someone with natural thick eyebrows, I love a product that can help tame and shape them. This definitely does that. I purchased the clear version and it just sweeps through my eyebrows with ease. It feels like a waxy consistency when it's dried down. It definitely keeps your shape well and it's also long lasting.

Generation Lipstick
This is a definite favourite of mine. Really smooth on your lips with an almost lip balm feel. Very moisturising. Lovely colour, which you can build up to intensify the shade or dab on to make a more subtle natural look. Just perfect.

Overall, Glossier makeup is wonderful. I will definitely be purchasing more from this brand. I think they have taken the no makeup, makeup look to new levels! I'm seriously impressed.

Glossier Haul

I feel like the love for Glossier has really blown up in the last few weeks. I'm not sure if it was the rave review in Elle magazine, the fact that every beauty influencer is talking about it or because it was discovered that Beyonce uses Boy Brow - and we all know, if it's good enough for B then it's good enough for us.

Whatever the reason, it has taken over my social feeds like crazy. It's tempted me so much that I decided to finally make an order on January 25th 2018.

My packages arrived on 29th January 2018. So a really good turn around postage wise. I spent a total of £66.60, and I received free shipping because I spent over £25.

My order arrived in two boxes. They were packaged beautifully.

Products I purchased:
Perfecting Skin Tint
Glossier Phase 2 set

I am currently in the process of testing these beauties out, so I will let you know my overall thoughts on these. However, from first impressions, the product packaging is incredible. It's simple and sleek and really represents the brand well.

The price point is mid-ranged and I think it is very affordable. I would consider buying the sets so you can get more for your money. Especially if you want to try out more than one product. It's a great way to save some pennies too.

Overall, I'm really happy with what I ordered. I'm extremely excited to test out what I purchased and I will do a thorough review which you can watch on my YouTube channel

Until then, if you want 10% off your first purchase click here for my code. (This isn't an affiliate code, everyone can get a code when they have created an account).

Stop trying to be like everyone else

One of my affirmations is proudly saying that I am my own person. I am unique.  Not in a big headed way, but in the sense where I am truly myself. No-one is like me because how can they be. Only I can be me.

When I was growing up I had a variety of friends. We were always in competition with each other, even though we would never admit it. We would dress the same, act the same and pretty much do the same things. But we were never actually friends. I didn't know the meaning of true friendship until I was myself. I now surround myself with people who love and accept me for me.

I think this is a common thing when you're a teenager. The need to conform and feel 'normal' or 'cool'. Now, looking back I couldn't have been more wrong. By conforming I lost the greatest thing about myself. ME.

I lost who I was because I thought to fit in, to be seen as cool would be to follow everyone else.

It's a huge failure really. They don't teach you in school or college the importance of loving who you are. They don't compliment uniqueness and individuality.

In fact, I'm not sure I was ever taught these important life skills. The system is failing because relevant knowledge isn't being taught or shared when we are younger. For instance, I think learning how to save money, understanding mental health, appropriate sex education and learning to appreciate yourself would be more relevant and useful then some of the lessons they teach in school.

I came to learn more about myself when I went to university. I realised that I didn't need to be like other people. I'm perfectly fine just as I am.

That doesn't mean that people don't inspire me. I have aspirations and I do look up to people who have made an impact on my life or have achieved something that I too would like to achieve one day. However, I will make my own impact one day but it will be my way.

This enlightenment has changed my mind-set completely. I now understand what drives me, what makes me special and how I can use that to have a positive influence on others and be successful.

The truth is, until you learn who you are, how can anyone really get to know you? How can anyone see your great qualities and awesomeness? They can't.

So stop trying to be like everyone else and just be you.
